Professor Siyan Oyeweso has been elected as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Development), at Osun State University, Osogbo, Nigeria. Professor Oyeweso has been a great supporter of the Knowing Each Other project and participated in many of our events including a workshop held in Ede, Nigeria in 2012 and the ‘Crossroads in African Studies’ conference held in Birmingham September 2013. He was a former Dean,Faculty of Arts ,Lagos State University.
Meanwhile Professor Olukoya Ogen has been appointed Provost of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Nigeria. Professor Ogen obtained his PhD from the University of Lagos, was a Leventis Scholar at SOAS, University of London in 2008, a British Academy Visiting Fellow at the University of Birmingham in 2009. He is currently a visiting Senior Research Fellow to the Department of African Studies and Anthropology, University of Birmingham. Professor Ogen partnership in the Knowing Each Other project has been essential to its success .

Dr Insa Nolte, has also been elected Vice President of the ASAUK at the AGM of the African Studies Association of the United Kingdom. Her election as Vice President of the ASAUK is well deserved recognition by her peers of Dr Nolte’s contribution to the field of African Studies. ASAUK is the national subject association for Africanists within the academic community and represents a unique network of UK scholars, journals, publishers, practitioners and librarians interested in the study of Africa. We wish Dr Nolte all the best for the next two years in which she will serve as ASAUK Vice President. She will automatically succeed David Maxwell as ASAUK President in 2016-18.
