A lecturer at the Taraba College of Education, Alhaji Kassimu Umar, has been lynched and burnt to death by an angry mob after he allegedly killed five primary school pupils with his car....
Umar knocked down the children, aged between 8 and 11, while trying to dodge a trailer in the early hours of Friday, according to reports.
Confirming the incident, the Taraba Police Command Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), Mr Joseph Kwaji told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Umar had reported himself to policemen at the Pupule Police Outpost after the accident.
“In the early hours of today, one Kassimu Umar, who is believed to be a lecturer with COE, Zing, had knocked down five primary school pupils who all died on the spot.
“After he reported the incident to the Pupule Police station, irate youths in their hundreds, stormed the station, dragged him out and lynched him.
“Investigation revealed that the lecturer was trying to dodge a trailer, when he ran over the pupils whose ages ranged between eight and 11 years.”
No arrests have been made so far as police investigate the incident..

You see the reasons people run away after an accident. This is horrible
ReplyDeleteI will have to agree with you Anonymous 8:19, jungle justice is unreasonable and really disgusting to me and everyone involved needs to procecuted by the court of law for it is even worse than man slaughter which this guy has done but rather a premeditated murder of the lecturer.
ReplyDeleteI wonder sometimes what goes through there mind while doing such act and what is the effect it has on there conscience after the whole thing has been done.
I've seen it happened before not once nor twice and at this times all I could think about was if not for the fact that I was a 12 year old kid then would have carried the guy and ran away with him but the implication as well would have been worse.
Anyway I hope the family of the students that were killed and the murdered lecturer find fortitude to bear the loss.
