Goodluck Jonathan Is An Under Achiever..Fashola..He Is Talking Rubbish..Presidency

LAGOS State governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, has accused the Federal Government of not being sincere about its ability to provide stable power supply in Nigeria for the past 16 years.
Fashola made the allegation in Abuja, while delivering a lecture as part of activities lined up to mark the birthday of former Bayelsa State governor, Chief Timipre Sylva.
He stated that despite the inability of the Federal Government to deliver on its pledge to provide power to Nigerians, Lagos State government had shown what was possible with its power initiatives in Egbin, Akute, Lagos Island, Alausa-Ikeja and Lekki.
Fashola, speaking on the theme: “The Challenge of Democratic Governance,” said “at all times, the welfare of the people is the central theme for the canvassing of votes. It is the ideology, often based on economic outlook, sometimes on social outlook, that helps to crystallise the difference between the political party machines.”
He also accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of sending a clear message to the people, saying: “We care about you, but you do not need development, so we will not do any developmental work in three years. In the fourth year, we will give you money, kerosene, and rice. Please vote for us, and use the money we give you to provide your own roads, schools, hospitals and security, until we see you again in four years.”
Reacting to the allegation, the Presidency accused Fashola of telling blatant lies about the record of achievements of President Goodluck Jonathan in office.
According to the Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to the President, Dr Doyin Okupe, who addressed a press conference in his office, in Abuja, Fashola sought to misinform Nigerians about the president.
The presidential aide described the claim of provision of kerosene, rice and others at the fourth year of its administration as “blatant and obvious lies, deliberate and skillful misinformation.”
He added that “nothing can be further from the truth than this. We admit that Governor Fashola may have been too occupied in Lagos and that may have narrowed his vision or precluded him from appreciating lofty developments by this administration all over the country.
“The government of President Jonathan has never lied about its achievements, programmes, commitments and even challenges within the Nigerian context.
“The government inherited a generating capacity of 2800MW, 10 comatose NIPP projects, and an inefficient PHCN, the privatisation of which, though central to effective power supply, was never the less seemingly non-achievable.”
“In three years, the government has increased power generation to 5,000MW with an installed capacity of 7,000MW; which itself would have increased but for sabotage and vandalism sponsored by the opposition. The PHCN was seamlessly and transparently privatised to the acclamation of global players.”
On the issue of insurgency, he said the president had not lied to the people of Nigeria, noting that at its peak, it ravaged some 12 states in the North, including Abuja.
“Today, because of the courage, resilience and capability of our Armed Forces and security agencies, we have pushed them to the fringes of the North Eastern parts of the country,” he said.
