President Goodluck Jonathan Saturday said the age limit of 40 to be qualified as president which is embedded in the Nigerian constitution, should be abrogated.
He said the age limit of 40, automatically barred young Nigerians from aspiring to the position of president.
He said the youths have what it takes to pilot the affairs of the country, and as such denying their aspirations for presidency through age limit is discriminatory.
The president bared his mind on the issue at an international youth summit organised by the Nigerian Young Professionals Forum (NYPF) with the theme, "Capacity for Change for a New Nigeria."
Jonathan charged the youths to ensure they send constitution amended bill aimed at removing what he tagged discriminatory provision of age limit to the National Assembly.
