Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has finally
confirmed the faceoff between him and Charly Boy during the burial of Justice
Chukwudifo Oputa in Oguta.
He made the clarification while speaking on a live breakfast
television show monitored from Abuja this
morning.
The governor said,the son of the erudite jurist
snatched the microphone from him while he was trying to make his address at the
event.
According to Rochas, what pained me most was that
the incident happened in the presence of the representative of Mr President
(Pius Anyim) who was allowed to speak at the event.
He said, the President’s representative did nothing
to rebuke Charly Boy for his action.
Governor Rochas Okorocha also used the occasion to debunk the stories making
the rounds that he had compelled all Northerners in the State procure
identification cards.
He said nothing of such happened. He stated his
displeasure on the way and manner the Senate handled the situation without
hearing his own side of the story.
To him,all the issues were politically motivated
and request the Senate to rise above political exegesis in speaking on issues of
this nature.
