A decomposing
body of a 44-year-old man, Habeeb Olatunde, reported to be a bank manager of
one of the commercial banks in the state, has been found.
A statement
by the Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muyiwa
Adejobi, to newsmen on Monday, had it that Olatunde had been declared missing
since June 18.
“His body was
found hanging in an uncompleted building at Arepo area of the state, by a team
of police detectives attached to Ibafo Divisional Headquarters led by the DPO,
Salawu Jimoh, last Saturday, at about 3.00 p.m,” he said.
Adejobi said
in the statement that police preliminary investigation had it that Olatunde, a
native Kwara State, committed suicide by hanging while on casual leave, saying
no mark of violence was found on his body and no foul play was suspected.
Adejobi added
his remains had been released to the family for burial according to Islamic
injunctions.
In advanced countries there should have been a post mortem to ascertain the real cause of death.
ReplyDeleteWe are a non-aligned nation which according to Fela means we are crazy. How can Police release the body of someone that has been missing for weeks and was found dead. So if you want to kill someone and get away, hide the body and set it up like suicide.
