Nigerians have described the death of the Lagos-based human rights
activist, Bamidele Aturu, as shocking and ill-timed.
They added that the deceased died at a time when he was needed the most.
Aturu, 49, died on Wednesday.
One of those who visited this house were ace Yourba actor cum comedian Baba
Suwe, who Aturu defended during his trial by the National Drugs Law Enforcement
Agency.
A visibly shocked Baba Suwe was so shocked that he couldn’t muster a
word.
He was seen acknowledging cheers from fellow sympathizers.
Aturu has stood by the actor all through his travail in the hands of the
NDLEA,leading to his being awarded some damages running into tens of millions
of Naira,a judgement the Agency is still contesting till date.
The death of Aturu may put a final nail to the case and may see Baba
Suwe losing out in the suit.
