The Sultan
of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has condemned what he described as
repeated and ungodly acts of terror being unleashed on Muslims.
The Sultan who is President General of the umbrella body for Muslims in the North, the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), in a statement yesterday in Kaduna, directed Muslims to pray for the restoration of peace and security in the country.
The Sultan,
in a statement signed by the Secretary General of JNI, Dr. Khalid Aliyu
Abubakar, condemned what we described as the “repeated ungodly acts of terror
being unleashed on the Muslims.”
The
statement also condemned the attack on three Emirs by gunmen suspected to be Boko
Haram members which led to the killing of the Emir of Gwoza in Borno
State, and asked the federal government to wake up to its responsibilities of
protecting the lives of Nigerians.
“JNI once
again will not be deterred nor remain mute over the repeated ungodly acts of
terror being unleashed on the Muslims, hence it painfully received the news of
the gruesome murder of HRH, Alhaji Shehu Mustapha Idrissa Timta, the Emir of
Gwoza in Borno State by criminals. “The heinous attack is utterly condemnable.
We again expect the federal government, through its relevant security agencies,
to wake up to their respective responsibilities of protecting lives and
property of Nigerians, especially in the North-east region.
“Enough
diatribes had been heard on the ugly situation. Therefore, purposeful and
coordinated pro-active measures must be on ground to check the menace of the
insurgency.
“In the
light of the above, we extend our condolences to the family of the late emir,
the Shehu of Borno, the Gwoza Emirate Council and the Borno State Government.
“In the same vein, we send our sympathy to their royal highnesses, the Emirs of Askira and Uba over the foiled attempt to their respective lives, to all Allah, the Most High is all glorifications.
“Finally,
the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, JNI, calls on all Muslims to
fervently continue praying for the restoration of peace and security in Nigeria
bearing in mind that we are in the month of Sha’aban, approaching the sacred
month of Ramadan. Similarly, all imams are implored to continue with Qunut
prayers in their respective mosques, for Allah’s intervention and relief,” the
statement said.

WHAT HIS PRESS RELEASE IMPLIES IS THAT BOKO HARAM SHOULD CONTINUE KILLING ALL OTHER "UNBELIEVERS" TO ISLAM AND SPARE THE MUSLIMS. THE SULTAN SHOULD REEXAMINE HIS STATEMENT AND APOLOGIZE TO NIGERIANS. If he did, he should examine his brain and probably abdicate the position of head of Muslims. He should be investigated properly without waste of time. It is a fact that the statement is an overflow of what is going on in his mind. He did not utter any word when others where being killed or kidnapped by his Boko Haram. Tell them the truth that in all sincererity, all of them that are sponsoring this dreaded group should come out and confess to nigerians. Tell them to stop destroying the north. The north is already backward in everything and even the little that was to be build upon is been destroyed. Religion is a free will thing and no one has a right to impose any of them on any person or people. North i weep for you because your fellow northerners are those killing you people. Let all the leaders in the north speak with one voice to stop boko haram and it will stop.
ReplyDeleteThe sultan of sokoto is not more than a mere religious leader. He is not even up to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome in terms of true followership. The Sultan is the Satan of Nigeria and main aupporter of Boko Haram if not sponsor. His blood and those in the same boat with him be sprinkled on the barren land of the north. Sultan my foot. He is a disgrace to the military and islam. Our oil money will turn into poison in his body and in every supporter of the evil called Boko Haram.
