Kwarans Indigenes Endorse Gov. Ahmed's Empowermen​t Programme

Kwaran state indigenes in Lagos State have endorsed, Quickwin, the Kwara State Government's youths empowerment programme aimed at positively engaging the youths of the state.  
Speaking during a Consultative programme held in Lagos between the governor and representatives of Kwara Community in Lagos, Mr Fola Adeleye,  CEO, Betweenthelines Communications Limited, said government's education and health policies are unique and people oriented. "On behalf of most Kwarans salute your commitment to people oriented policies in spite of the migre federal allocation and constraints in the internal generated revenue. I urge your Excellency not to relent in the effort to transform the state, develop the tourism and mineral resources of the state", Mr Fola said. 

Speaking earlier, the state governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed said more than four hundred rural communities in Kwara State had been connected to the national grid since 2011. 
The Governor, who added that road construction had been carried out in over seven hundred communities, cutting across the three senatorial districts of the state, said he was in Lagos to intimate Kwarans with the journey so and seek their support in the effort to make the state an investment destination.
Governor Ahmed expressed concern over growing rate of youth restiveness across the country explaining that his government designed the Kwara Employment Bridge Employment Scheme(KWABES) and the Quickwin Empowerment and Employment Scheme under which over 10,200 youths have been  gainfully engage, to empower the youth.
On education, the governor explained that the government had reduced the Kwara State University (KWASU) tuition fees from one hundred and fifty thousand Naira to Ninety-nine thousand Naira, adding that both primary and secondary education in the state were not only free but made compulsory.
On health sector, Dr Ahmed disclosed that five general hospitals across the three senatorial district of the state had been completed while more than ninety thousand people have so far enrolled under the community health insurance scheme.

The Consultative Forum was attended by members of the State Executive Council, Local Government Chairmen with various Lagos based individuals, representatives of artisans, community associations and others.
