Fayose Condemns Fayemi's Plan To Create More LGA 4 Months To Exit

THE administration of Dr Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti State is heading on a coalition course with the in-coming governorment to be led by Mr Ayò Fayose, over the planned creation of additional 18 local council development areas in the state.
The state Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mr Tayo Ekundayo, announced in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Thursday that the state executive council took the decision following “the recommendations of the White Paper Committee set up by the government.”
Ekundayo had said: “The new council areas are to be created from the existing 16 local government areas of the state after the conduct of a referendum by the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) and consideration of the outcome of the referendum by the Ekiti State House of Assembly.”
However, the in-coming governor of the state, Mr Ayò Fayose, kicked against the decision, saying it was “ungentlemanly” for the administration with about four months left to “create problems for the in-coming administration.”
Also, Fayose’s party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Friday, described the creation of 18 new additional councils in the state by Fayemi as “diversionary and a deliberate action to create confusion and instability for the in-coming government of  Ayodele Fayose.”
The PDP, in the statement signed by its Publicity Secretary in the state, Pastor Kola Oluwawole, said “the creation of the new local councils by a government that is obviously leaving very soon smacks of hypocrisy and betrayal,” saying “the outgoing governor chose to tread on this dangerous path of undemocratic practice by creating inchoate and illegal councils in the last days of his administration after losing woefully to the PDP in the just concluded election.”
The party said: “This latest action is a ploy to give the in - coming administration a hard start. This is unacceptable.  The incoming government of the PDP will review the exercise and take appropriate steps to curtail this reckless show of shame.
“A government that said it had many redundant workers at the local government councils few months ago is now desperately recruiting workers just to increase the debt profile of the government and create problem for the in-coming government.”
The party also alleged that “it has uncovered many plots of the drowning regime of APC to create landmines and booby traps for the in coming administration and that the party is also  aware of the clandestine moves of the governor to cause disaffection between  the PDP and the people of the state,” but added that “steps will be taken in the next few days to curtail the recklessness and undemocratic actions of the outgoing government.”

  1. l will encourage Federal government to seize Ekiti 3months allocations to prevent any form of mismanagement and misappropriation and embezzlement in the remaining days to dictatorship tenure of gov Fayemi. By doing so, his hypocritical local govt creation would abrupted as well as his kangaroo employment provision would not be truncated.
