Authorities of Christ Embassy International have denied reports of break-up between the Senior Pastor of the church, Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Anita.
The church described online media reports that the marriage had crashed as “make-up stories.”
In a post on a Facebook account opened by Anita’s supporters, ‘Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome?’ the senior pastor was quoted as saying there was an ongoing domestic issue with Anita.
The recipient of a call made to the official contact line of the church, who identified herself simply as Pastor Mercy, said the report was false.
She said, “It is not true; it is a rumour. All these things are make-up stories.”
A post on the Facebook page purported to be the summary of Pastor Chris’ speech with United Kingdom-based pastors and deacons of Christ Embassy at the Bermondsey branch of the church on May 16, 2014, stated that, “I am here for your concerns about the ongoing domestic issue with my wife and I know it affects you directly, being the ones under her leadership.”
He allegedly asked the pastors not disposed to the developments in the church to quit. According to report quoting him, “You don’t join a woman to fight her husband.”
“Bitterness is prolonged and accumulated anger. My wife is always angry and bitter,” he was quoted as saying.
Oyakhilome also allegedly said, “Some pastors’ wives think when they marry a pastor, they are equal to the pastor. My wife thinks so. As a matter of fact, Rev. Tom was her pastor before I married her and Rev. Ray and Evang. Owase were her leaders long before I married her. How come she thinks she’s senior to them now?
“I already started Christ Embassy before I married her. I didn’t marry her and said we should start Christ Embassy. I was already ‘pastoring.’ I already set my sail and knew my direction before I married her. I only said ‘come and help me.’
“Be careful of the friends you keep. My wife keeps friends who bring out the worst in her and help her see the worst in people, instead of keeping friends that will help her vision, especially as the wife of a global pastor like me.”
Another member of the church dismissed the reports as speculations. She said it could only be confirmed by an official press release by the leadership of the church.
“There are issues, yes, but the Facebook post is an absolute fallacy,” the member, who pleaded anonymity, said.

Its obvious you read and don't understand. Haven't you read we are also "one" with christ, does that mean we are equal?
My advise to you dear lady, is to learn this quickly and avoid issues in your marriage, cos the bible specifically tells the woman to submit to her husband "in all things". Bible said in all things. No be me put am.
No matter haw spiritual a man of God is, at his best, he is still a man. note that!

They were both fighting a good fight in the LORD. The devil is not happy about millions of souls coming into God's Kingdom through their ministry.The bible says "strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter".Intercession with careful and wise intervention of the elders of the church will help a lot.Members and people should also avoid being judgemental and join forces.May God help the families of God.May God help Christmas embassy.

ReplyDeleteits very unfortunate for Anita 2 hv filled for divorce. Mind u Pastor Christ made Anita what she is 2day and dat remains the fact. Whatever misunderstanding they hav with each other can also be satled but its a matter of time. God will help them come over this pending DOOM.

ReplyDeleteiv 4long not bn comfortable wt pastor chris nd av bn careful criticizing him bt frm all indicatns, i feel past chris isnt genuinely broken as a man of God. number 1, his numerous healings are at times may not genuine bt arranged, i remember wen my father was taken der sick of partial stroke, he was at d end staged as if he got healed meanwhile d man wasnt. my dad came der on his feet even though as a sick man he cldnt walk well. in d process on a day he was 2do recordings, my pop was put on a wheelchair as if he cldnt walk nd later after all d razzmatas, he asked d man 2stand up which he then did, nd comanded him to come, come in his usual manner then claimed he's bn healed. All des was publicized nd i felt very bad. We as the family just left d mata 4God. It was frm then dt i began to peep in2him nd reserved my comments.
ReplyDelete(2) I dnt know abt pst.Chris personal live bt i know some pastors under his tutelage dt are very weak wen we talk abt women, we grew up 2geda in high school, attend services wt them in Christ embassy then, they sleep around wt girls. iguess if d head is bad, d follower tend to follow suit. Pastor Chris shld re-examine himself nd retrace his steps to God. Can u imagine such a highly placed so-called man of God in ds kinda mess who cant guide his home? its shameful.
