Bomb Scare Hit Osun State

 

Fear, pandemonium and apprehension yesterday beclouded the people of Ido-Osun in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun state over an alleged discovery of an explosive device in the area.

Residents of Ibikunle estate, Ido-Osun had allegedly reported the purported discovery of an explosive device around the state secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) to the Police in the early hours of yesterday.
A resident of the area, who spoke  on condition of anonymity, said most of the residents of the area vacated their houses no sooner than the news spread in the area.

It was gathered that officers of the state Police command also stormed the area, using bomb detectors and other devices to discover where the explosive device was planted.
It was learnt that residents of the area who did not abandon their houses stayed indoor all through the day for fear of the alleged bomb in the area.

A source also confirmed that the efforts of the Police on the explosive device did not yield any positive result as at the time of filling this report as no device was discovered nor detected by the Police.
