Lagos State Govt. Warns Residents Against Lynching Of Suspected Kidnappers

The Lagos State government, on Friday, warned that perpetrators of jungle justice in the state would be apprehended and brought to book.
Mr Ade Ipaye, the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Ade Ipaye, gave the warning in a statement issued in Lagos.
According to him, the practice of lynching suspected criminals would not be condoned by the authorities irrespective of the offences the suspects might have committed.
He noted that the warning was necessitated by recent media reports that some persons were attacked in the state based on mere allegations of kidnapping, stealing and ritual killings.
‘The government totally condemns these attacks as the suspects could be wrongly accused.
“Even if they did commit the alleged offences, there is a process for prosecuting and showing evidence in court so that proven criminals can be properly punished according to the law,” he said.

  5. It is high time we become organized society we cant be barbaric in nature and expect the world to belive we are not animals. The police should also rise to the expectation of the people the are serving, alot is expected from the police and we can not progress as a nation with out law enforcement. Secondly the judiciary also have a big hand to pass justice quickly with out bias. We can be great if we want.
