A retired former military administrator of Delta State, Col John Dungs
has .He died yesterday at about 2 pm. A visit to the residence of the
deceased at Rayfield in Jos observed that it was filled with sympathisers.
Mr. Daniel Woshi, a cousin of the deceased, described his death as
sudden.
Col Dung was said to have died few hours after his own father died
His words: “We were together with him in the morning, he even paid the
salaries of all his staff today and had a meeting with his business associates.
He was preparing for his father’s burial before his sudden demise; we are still
in shock.”
Meanwhile, Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau state has described the death
of Sen. John Wash Pam, as a loss not only to his family, associates and
Plateau state but to the nation as a whole.
According to Jang, the late elder statesman was one of the great
democrats the state and the nation produced.
He noted that Pam’s contribution to democracy was unparalleled as
a great parliamentarian during the second republic who made an indelible mark in
his efforts towards promoting democratic rule in Nigeria.
Jang has also described the death of Dungs as “a great shock.”
According to him, his family and the good people of the state will miss
Dungs’ valuable contribution to nation-building.
According to a statement issue by James Mannok, the governor’s director
of press, Jang also described the death of the first civilian Governor of Kwara
State, Adamu Attah, as another sad event in the life of the nation.
