SUBSTANCE suspected to be bomb, on Monday night, exploded and hit
inter-state military joint task force (JTF) vehicles.
Three officers were feared dead, while six others sustained varing
degrees of injuries at Gwani forest, in Basiraka district of Gwaram Local
Government Area of Jigawa State.
Reports from the state indicated that the incident occurred when the JTF,
comprising military men from different nieghbouring states, were entering the
forest suspected to be the hideout of gunmen who, few weeks ago, attacked a
police station and killed seven policemen at the headquarters of Gwaram Local
Government Area of the state.
When contacted, the State Police Commissioner, Mr Kayode Theophilus,
speaking through the Police Public Relations Officer, Abdu Jinjiri, confirmed
the incident.
“We don’t have details about the
incident and we cannot say anything about it. It happened in the area that
falls under Bauchi State command,” he said.
