A 32-year-old
driver simply identified as Felix has been allegedly stabbed to death by his
lover, Fasilat, in Ikare Akoko area of Ondo State.
Unconfirmed
report said the deceased was until his death the Deputy Chairman of the
Abuja unit of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW,
Ikare branch.
Sources said the
deceased had taken the woman to a guest house only for them to disagree on an
undisclosed matter.
Felix, according
to reliable source, was stabbed with a broken bottle and had bites
all over his body.
It was gathered that before the ugly incident, the
deceased had been warned of an impending danger by a prophet through his wife.
But the deceased
was said to have visited the church where the prophecy emanated in anger to
warn the prophet to steer clear of his affairs.
The prophet
reportedly also warned him to desist from illicit love affairs.
It was however, gathered that when Felix discovered
that his lover was getting violent during the argument, he put a call to one of
his friends that he has been stabbed and was on his way to the hospital.
By the time his
friend got to the hospital he met him dead.
The police later
arrested the suspect following information given by the deceased’s friend.
Police source
said the suspect was discovered to be under the influence of drugs as some
drugs were recovered from her bag.
But police
source also hinted that the suspect alleged that the deceased wanted to rape
her and in self defence the unexpected occurred.
The corpse of
the deceased has been deposited at the General Hospital, Ikare for autopsy.
Police image
maker, Wole Ogodo, could not be reached for comment, but a competent police
officer confirmed the incident but said the DPO in Ikare was yet to brief the
state command.
