The management of award winning outfit Ikenga Entertainment
and Awards through its Chief Executive Officer Chris Nwandu has disassociated
his organization from the purported Ikenga Award given the former Aviation
Minister Princess Stella Oduah by an organization last week.
According to Chris Nwandu, who is also the Publisher and
Editor In Chief of Nigeria’s online media platform CKN Nigeria, It has become
necessary for us to issue out this press statement due to the numbers of text
messages, phone calls and emails from Nigerians across the globe who have been
making equerries to know if the award was organized by our organization.
As everyone must have been aware, our organization has since
2009 being in the forefront of organizing the prestigious Ikenga Merit Award
and Miss Ikenga pageant.
The Ikenga Award which is registered by the CAC and patent
by the Federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry has been in the forefront of recognising
and celebrating Nigerians of Igbos extraction who have distinguished themselves
in their chosen profession.
Over the years, we have created an enviable reputation and
record in our quest to celebrate Igbo sons and daughters who have contributed
to the growth and development of Igboland and Nigeria as a whole.
Our selection process has been transparent and our awards
have been devoid of any rancour.
In as much as we do not have anything against the award
given to the former Aviation Minister as a distinguished daughter of Igboland,
we want to place on record that our organization Ikenga Entertainment and Award
is the ONLY organization legally registered and authorized to organize the
Ikenga Merit Award .
Any other organization that arrogates to itself such powers
is only pirating our organization.
The Ikenga Merit Awards is a biannual event that celebrates
and recognizes Igbos in the area of Media, Music, Movie, Politics,
Entrepreneurship, Science and Technology and Sports.
Some of our past winners include, renowned Movie Producer, Amaka
Igwe, Nollywood actor, Kanayo O Kanayo, Nigerian pop star Nigga Raw, Prof

,Innoson group amongst others.
We therefore wish to use this opportunity to inform all
Nigerians and Igbos at home and in the diaspora that arrangement is being put
in place towards hosting this years’ Ikenga Merit Award which will be in ten
categories.
Princess Stella Oduah must have wrongly purchased the two bullet proof cars whose price was over inflated by the agencies who was tasked by her office to buy the cars without the proper approval of the apprietate authorities. But we should also not forget the state of all airports in Nigeria before she took over as the minister of aviation and the position and standard she left them........
ReplyDeleteIkenga or whatever u are called. Do u mean to say oduah does not deserve any prestigious award? In less than 3yrs she performed such a miracle in her former industry & now u seem to treat her like a leper. Madam Oduah, u deserve my award & respect anytime.
ReplyDeleteMy typical igbo people..Denying their own daughter...How many of the yorubas have denied Bankole,Fani kayode,Akingbola ? This woman has turned around the dead airports into state of art airports..No matter her sin,she deserve any award given to her...
