Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has said that he requested for
soldiers to be deployed in some parts of the state to assist in curbing
incessant robbery incidents.
The governor said this on Thursday during a campaign tour of communities
in Ise/Orun Local Government Area in continuation ahead of the June
21 governorship election.
He said, “There was a time this road was impassable because of the
menace of armed robbers and I called for the deployment of soldiers in the road
to save our people from robbery attacks.
“Security of lives and property is very dear to my government and we
want our people to have peace and enjoy rest of mind unlike in the last when it
was one week, one trouble.
“This is the difference between a government that cares for the people
and a government that does not care for the people.
