Gunmen
yesterday struck at Kiagbodo in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State,
seizing and taking away Ebikeme Clark, son of elder statesman and Ijaw national
leader, Chief Edwin Clark.
A top police
source in Delta, who confirmed the kidnap, said Ebikeme’s abductors emerged
from the water in the evening and whisked away their victim to an unknown
destination.
Men of Delta
State police command, the source added, have stepped up efforts to trace the
suspected kidnappers and locate where they are holding their victim.
The incident,
it was gathered, is already generating tension in Kiagbodo. Ebikeme, it would
be recalled, contested the last elections to represent Burutu Federal
Constituency in the House of Representatives
They should pay immediately and secure the release of the poor boy.
