As Nigeria continues to count the cost of the bomb blast that rocked the city today, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have called on Nigerians to rally round to donate blood to save the lives of some of the victims.. In a passionate appeal received by CKN Nigeria moments ago, the agency said most of the victim need blood urgently. They have requested Nigerians to visit the General Hospitals in Nyanya and Asokoro in Abuja for the donation. Those within the main city can also donate blood at NEMA office at 39 Abidjan Street, Wuse Zone 3 Abuja. Meanwhile, the National Security Adviser to the President Brig Gen Dasuki Rtd has visited the scene of the accident. While its still difficult to ascertain how the incident happened, some eye witness account said it was carried out by suicide bombers. The death toll is rising and may be hitting the hundred mark. There have been other rumoured news that another attack took place at the Jabi park area of the city this morning but this has been debunked by security agents.
My heat bleeds when I see the rate @ which pple die in Nigeria daily, it is indeed very sad n bad. I think its high time we hear an early morning broadcast of... "Fellow Nigerians, I bring to u good news, I Major Blaah Blaah Blaah..." . Nigerians are in a dieing need for another Gideon Okar, Ekperem,Odeh etc Men dat can do the work n not just talk d talk. Enough is enough for d wise. Abi we no get intelligence officers again in Nigerian Army? I'm a very good Chess player n I equally have d making of a psychologist... So, it is high time u strike n ruthlessly crush d problems of insecurity, Boko Haram, corruption, religious intolerance, kidnapping, etc.
ReplyDeleteMy heart bleeds for the innocent Nigerians whose lives have been wasted and are being being wasted daily; but as responsible citizens of this country, we must remain cautious and vigilant and responsible in our actions and utterances'.
ReplyDeleteCalling for the military now under whatever guise would not speak well for our collective unity and co-existence. We must not threaten this fragile democracy - if we do, we would be worse off as a people and a nation- remember the worse democracy is still and far better than the best military regime????
