President of the Senate,
Senator David Mark will on Friday (14/03/14) lead Nigerian Parliamentarians to
participate in the 130th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)
conference holding in Geneva, Switzerland .
The weeklong global Legislative conference begins on Saturday March 15 2014 and ends on March 21, 2014
This year's conference general debate which will focus on " IPU at 125: Renewing our commitment to peace and democracy in the world" coincides with the anniversary of the legislative Assembly.
Other issues billed for
debate includes: "Towards a nuclear-weapon -free world: the contribution
of parliaments and the role of parliaments in protecting the rights of
children in particular unaccompanied migrants children in preventing their
exploitation in situations of war and conflict among others.

Senator Mark is
accompanied by the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives Emeka Ihedioha,
Senate Minority Whip, Ganiyu Olarewaju Solomon, Senators Abdulazeez Usman,
Helen Esuene , Ehigie Uzamere and Hassan Barata.
Others on the entourage
are House of Representatives' Daniel Reyenieju, Mohammed Idris,Binta
Fatima Bello and Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe.
The delegation is expected back in Nigeria on Saturday March 21, 2014.
