A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Friday granted an order
restraining the State Security Services and the Inspector General of Police,
Mallam Mohammed Abubakar, and all the agencies of the Federal Government from
arresting the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr.
Lamido Sanusi.
Justice Ibrahim Buba granted the order in chamber after hearing Sanusi’s
ex parte application shortly after it was duly filed on Friday.
The order is to subsist pending the hearing of the suit. The court
adjourned till February 28, before which time parties in the suit were expected
to have been served.
The court order came as the suspended CBN governor accused
President Goodluck Jonathan administration of shielding corrupt government
officials.
Represented by the former Attorney-General of Lagos State, Professor
Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), and Kola Awodein (SAN), Sanusi, clad in a jalamia
and a red cap, appeared at the Lagos court for about 20 minutes on Friday.
The Presidency had on Thursday hinged the suspension of the apex bank
governor, who is due for retirement in June, on his financial recklessness in
office.
Jonathan government is full of corruption nobody is going to vote for you 2015
ReplyDeleteI didn't vote 4 Jonathan in the last election because I thought he was going 2 be controlled by OBJ and the Cabal, but Jonathan has proved me wrong, he refused 2 be controlled. I will vote 4 President Jonathan come 2015 that's if there will be any election.
DeleteIs not a matter of refusing to be control by OBJ,but what are his achievements??
DeleteCorruption everywhere. God wil save us in nigeria.
ReplyDelete“If anybody wants to put me in prison I have always said just tell me what prison to go to and I would drive myself there in the period that you have set out for me. And I will come out. It’s just location”. Lamido Sanusi said.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the same person has rushed court to restrain his arrest. So Sanusi has so much money to hire 2 SANs, one is even a professor. Mr. Clean indeed! If Sanusi’s cupboard has no skeleton, why do he rush to court for restraining order of arrest just less than 24 hrs of his sack notice. Nobody here is talking about the billions of naira he awarded to some foreign airlines that is not even flying or registered in Nigeria, nobody is talking about the unnecessary donations he was giving without due process, nobody is talking about his interference in politics because CBN is independent body etc. Sanusi himself admitted that his sack is long overdue, meaning that the Presidency consulted wisely before taking action.
