President Goodluck Jonathan has accepted the resignation
of four cabinet ministers.
They are Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah; Minister of
Police Affairs, Caleb Olubolade; Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday
Orubebe; and Minister of State for Finance, Yerima Ngama.
They were asked to resign to save them the humiliation of
being sacked.
It is not immediately clear why Messrs Olubolade, Orubebe
and Ngama were asked to leave.
But Mrs Oduah was sent packing over corruption-related
offences.
She was indicted by both the House of Representatives and
a presidential committee for compelling an agency under her supervision, the
Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, to buy her two exotic armoured cars in
violation of Nigeria’s public procurement laws.
Investigation also found her to have lied about her
qualifications in the resume she presented to the Nigerian senate for her
confirmation hearing. She claimed a non-existent university awarded her an
honorary doctorate.
What a laudable decision by Mr. President. GEJ you are indeed a listening leader with the nation at heart. I believe indeed Nigeria at the end will be glad you lead. God direct your path towards national transformation and give you people (winning team) with the interest of Nigeria @heart. Long live FRN, Long live Nigeria and Long live the President.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing laudable about this , the sincerity of the president is still questionable. Why is Wike, the most controversial minister still in his cabinet? It is apparent that the president is playing politics with his appointments but certainly , he will never rule Nigeria again, he is a colossal failure
ReplyDeleteVictory are you God?
DeleteOfuchi are u not tired of using this phrase "colossal failure' the person that taught this phrase don suffer o.
DeleteIs she going with her 2 BMW
ReplyDeleteWhat is good about what Jonathan has done,if Oduah is sacked bcause of corruption related offences, she should go to jail as recommended by d house of rep and Okonjo Iweala too should be sent packing as well among those corrupt mininsters in Jonathan's cabinet even Jonathan should be d first to resign bcause he is too corrupt himself
ReplyDeleteWhat about Dienzali Allison and Ngozi okonji?including Bala mohd.
ReplyDeleteOduah is sacked bcause of corruption related offences, what did she do, was the car hers. Jonathan has just lose one vote from me.
ReplyDeleteLate action
ReplyDeleteThis is a smoke screen. Nothing has changed. The president did that to safe his face after all Oduah was not probed or the cars retived from her. Those sacked along with her are simply sacrificial lambs just to up some number.
