The Inspector-General of Police,
IGP MD Abubakar, CFR, NPM, mni, psc has expressed the readiness of the Nigeria
Police Force to ensure a hitch-free guber elections taking place in Ekiti and
Osun States this year and the 2015 general elections. The IGP, who gave this
assurance when the US Ambassador, Mr. James Entwistle paid him a courtesy visit
at the FHQ, Abuja, Tuesday, 4th February, 2014 noted that already
not less than one hundred and sixty thousand (160,000) Police personnel are
receiving relevant training on election duties in different Police training
institutions across the country in preparation for these elections. The Police
Officers are receiving specialized training on electoral laws, election
security, crowd control skills, anti-riot operations, covert intelligence
operations and general principles of democratic policing.
On his part,
the US Ambassador promised increased collaboration with the Nigeria Police
Force in the area of capacity building and other security related matters,
promising that the US Government is committed to the growth and success of
Nigeria’s democracy and economy.

This is the right thing the police can do. I believe the police has massively improved under this honorable Abubakar. I charge him to do more bcus there is still a long way to go. I also want INEC to train their personal to prevent any form of electoral misfortune
ReplyDeleteThe police need to a lot more strict with the corrupt offices...they should start sacking who ever found wanting on any form of corruption or for not carrying out his duties..dat way the rest would change and the new once coming in will know thats the modules opranda.
