University of Lagos is set to name a 15-storey girls hostel after Dame Patience
Goodluck Jonathan this Friday.
At a
briefing yesterday, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Duro Oni, said
the 15-storey building expected to cost about N3 billion would be named
after the First Lady because of her contributions towards women folks.
He said: “It is
a female hostel and the person due to be named after it is the President’s wife
who has touched the lives of many women.”
According to
him, like other tertiary institutions, UNILAG had been having problem of
accommodation hindering students especially the female students getting to
school on time, saying “about 28,000 undergraduates struggle for 8,500
spaces every year in UNILAG.”
What is wrong wit some Nigerians if they should be given some money inform of bribe or gifts they will be doing nonsense,why on earth should they name dis hostel after Patience Jonathan when we have better women who has touched d lives of Nigerians in a positive ways,Kudirat Abiola that died 4 democracy is far better off than dis arrogant woman,who says she touched d lives of our women,they should mention d lives of those she touched,this is absolute nonsense

ReplyDeleteWhat is wrong in naming the building Patience Jonathan? She is the President's wife and a humanitarian. What is the contribution of Kudirat Abiola? Bcos she married Moshood Abiola? Didn't students reject Moshood Abiola university?Abegi! God raised Patience Jonathan,even with her shortcomings, so man should honor her jare. Well done Unilag!!!

ReplyDeletePatience Jonathan has never touched the lives of any body unless those criminals that were caught in port harcourt with arms to kill Ameachi. She brought impunity to a different level in Nigeria, she is named "mama above the law" . She should be stoned to death for her nargertive contribution to our social under developement . Unilag will be inviting wrath upon themselves from the founding father of that great institution if they name any structure in the school after the arrogant and unpolished patience Jonathan the waste.
