He said, "We want to inform you that the man Kennedy Ogba was released yesterday after the command had arrested the kidnappers when they demanded N2 million ransom; they were arrested when they attempted to collect the money. The money is in this bag, N2 million cash.
"They are Chukwuemeka Nwafor alias Oshimiri, who is a herbalist, armed robber, a notorious person and kidnapper. We tried to arrest him last year but he escaped but this year we were able to arrest him; the second person is Anayo Kalu, from Abia State; they are all in the vehicle when we finish, you can go and look at them.
"What we found out from them is that they have a list of high profile Ebonyians that they have listed to kidnap this year including politicians, local government chairmen, men and women; those in the private sector, including children.
Those in their list have been targeted for ransom; their aim is to confuse the situation because this is election period; they want to cause confusion so that people will think that their own form of kidnapping was related to politics not knowing that theirs is just criminality.”
