Police Officers Weep As CP Mbu Leave Rivers

Officers and men of Rivers State Command yesterday beat emotions as the immediate past Police Commissioner, Joseph Mbu Joseph left Port Harcourt. Mbu was redeployed to Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja and was replaced by Tunde Ogunsakin who was until his redeployment to Rivers State was the Commissioner of Police in charge of Anti fraud unit of the Nigeria Police, Lagos.
Shortly After the Official handing over ceremony to his successor the former State Police Boss mounted the rostrum to take the departure parade .
Immediately after the departure parade and the Police Boss was about to drive out of the Command headquarters some Officers and men of the Command who were had gathered at the parade ground broke down in tears.
A sobbing female Police Officer who pleaded anonymity told our reporter that the former Police Officer is a very generous and kind hearted Police COP.
According to her "many people misunderstood our Oga. He is soft minded and very caring. He is very strict and does not compromise anything with his job. He does not joke with anything that concerns the welfare of Officers. Before now impress given to heads of departments does not get to the Officers but when he came in he stopped it. Money were given to people it was meant for. He is a good man, we are going to miss him. God will be with anywhere he is going to" she said.
Another Police Officer who simply identified himself as Jonna said the Police COP transformed the entire Command's premises. "If you look at our Command headquarters you will see what he has done. He renovated the entire premises with state of arts facilities. He is kind hearted. He normally tell us that he cannot sack any Police Officer.
He would always say, I will not sack you because if I do that, who will take care of your family. Instead of that, I will discipline you. Mbu is a nice man. We will miss him a great deal" he said.
Shortly after the hand over ceremony the new Police Commissioner Tunde Ogunsakin charged Officers and men ofthe Command to take their jobs seriously. The new Police Boss said he would not tolerate any act of indiscipline and corruption. "I will not tolerate any act of in discipline. I want each and every one of you to be committed to your job. You must show total loyalty to Nigeria Police. Any Officer that is found wanting is the discharge of his job will be penalized. All incidents must be reported to the headquarters. I will not condone corruption. You know that I have worked in the anti graft agency. I will not spare any Officer that is involved in any act of corruption"
"I have zero tolerance to corruption. You will not be speared if I catch you. You must be proud as a Police man. You must observe all the tenets of human rights and should not violate any one. You must ensure that crime is reduce to the barest minimum" he stated.
He commended the out gone Commissioner for the good job he has done in the State and promised to consolidate on that.

  1. Mbu may be good we don't doubt it but he was misled by GEJ and his wife and some other self centered politicians and he started fighting Amaechi, let the new Cop work in peace with the Governor and for the betterment of the state.

  6. Anonymous 7:13 , you are an idiot. The issue that led to the redeployment of Mbu , has to do with the desperate bid of Jonathan to win 2015 . So he is the prime culprit in this case . This is why history will see him as the most desperate president Nigeria ever had in their history. Jonathan is a colossal failure.

  7. Same phrase "colossal failure" from same shallow mind, Ofuchi...your comments are always boring and clueless. I hope to see the day you will look up your dictionary or ask literate SSCE leaver for the nearest in meaning to your over-used phrase.
