Nwanyanwu
said Mimiko would also remain with the party as a leader and critical
stakeholder to lead the party to greater heights.
In a
statement issued yesterday, the LP chairman said: "This is very
insulting insinuation should have been ignored by LP but owing to the fact that
the insinuations have been promoted by all manners of characters since 2009,
when Mimiko first took oath of office as the Governor of Ondo State on the
platform of the LP.
"We have decided to briefly respond to it because it is a generally known maxim that 'a lie told several times over could be perceived as the truth'.

"Let us
state for the umpteenth time that Governor Olusegun Mimiko does not intend to
decamp to the PDP or to any other party for that matter.
"Mimiko
was elected governor on the platform of the LP and with LP he intends to
remain. This is because he believes in the social democratic ideology of the
party.
"And in
case he does not believe that decamping from a party with no leadership
division to another party will find conform with the provisions of the
Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria."
The chairman, however, assured all the party members that the governor would complete the second tenure as the governor under the umbrella of the party.
