The Nigerian Army and Navy, on
Wednesday, effected a massive shake up in the service, with the
appointment of five new General Officers Commanding (GOCs) and three new Flag
Officers Commanding (FOCs).
The shake-up also affected principal
staff officers at the headquarters of the two services.
Thirty six Major-Generals, 52
Brigadier-Generals and 19 colonels were affected in the posting, while 29 Rear
Admirals; 28 commodores and 18 navy captains were affected in the Navy.
The new GOCs are Major Generals J. S
Zaruwa, GOC 3 Division; T.I Dibi, GOC 81 Division; E.F Abejirin, GOC 2
Division; Kingsley C. Osuji, GOC 1 Division and A.T Yusuf, 82 Division.
Also in the Navy, the new FOCs are
Rear Admirals S. H. Usman, FOC Logistics Command; P. A Agba, FOC Central Naval
Command and O. C Medani, FOC Eastern Naval Command.
Releasing the postings, Army
spokesman, Brigadier-General Olajide Laleye, said it was routine activitie
carried out from time to time to fill existing vacancies emanating from
promotion and retirement.
