Imbibe Sporting Culture, Mark Tells Nigerians

President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has tasked Nigerians to imbibe sporting culture in order to keep fit saying government is keen at improving the sector and make the nation sport driven destination.
Speaking at the 3rd Pro-Am Pa Aikwuta Mark memorial Golf tournament in Otukpo during the weekend, Senator David Mark said as the game of Golf is gaining ground in the country; other sports must not be deprived from growth.
Speaking through his wife Helen, the Senate President urged Nigerians to rise and engage in one form of sport or the other, pointing out that government alone cannot do everything without the interest from the people.
According to Mark; sport is a way of life, it keeps you fit and bring out the best in you.  I want to implore everyone to associate with one form of sport in a lifetime.
“The best way a golfer can ignite the memory of his late father is to organize a memorial golf tournament in his honour, which I will continue to do.  My father lived a full of passion and sacrifice, so I should remember him passionately with the best game I play.
Senate President also commended the participants at this year’s Pa Aikwuta Mark memorial golf tournament adding that the St. Mark Golf and Country Club, Akpegede, Otukpo is one of the best golf clubs in the country today because of the efforts of some few individuals.
He therefore called on well meaning Nigerians to join in the efforts to make Nigeria a reckoning destination in terms of sports.
This year’s 3rd edition of Pa Aikwuta golf tournament featured various categories of golf play while the defending champion, Amos Korblah thrilled the participants with another win to retain the trophy.
