RELEASE BY THE OFFICE OF THE FCT MINISTER , SEN BALA MOHAMMED
A healthy and resplendent First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dame (Dr) Patience Faka Goodluck Jonathan yesterday evening stormed the Life Camp, Abuja official residence of the Minister of FCT, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to condole with him over the recent transition of his elder brother, Mallam Yusuf Mohammed Baba.
The FCT Minister while expressing his appreciation of the First Lady’s sympathy condemned as treachery and ungodly the report by a national newspaper on Sunday (yesterday) alleging that the First had fallen ill and flown abroad for urgent medical attention. H e urged members of the press to always cross check their facts.
The Minister said neither the Federal Government nor the first family was going to join issues with those behind the false report. He wished the first lady and her husband, President G well stressing that the false report is a euphemism for good health and longevity of the first lady. Earlier the first lady had extolled the virtues of the late Yusuf Mohammed Baba as a great scholar, man of peace, renown teacher and a pious Muslim. She prayed to God to grant his gentle soul a peaceful rest and those she left behind the fortitude to bear the great loss.
Those present at the event include members of National Assembly ministers, top officials of the FCT Administration and others. They include Senator Philip Aduda, Hon. Isa Ega DAobi, Hon. Bitrus Jisalo, FCT Permanent Secretary, Engr. John Chukwu, Hajia Bola Shagaya, Wife of FCT Minister, Hajia Aisha Bala Mohammed, Chief of Staff to the FCT Minister, Alhaji Mohammed Yau Gital and many others.
