Having
taken special notice of reports of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria
and other investigating bodies, which indicate clearly that Mallam Sanusi
Lamido Sanusi’s tenure has been characterized by various acts of
financial recklessness and misconduct which are inconsistent with the
administration’s vision of a Central Bank propelled by the core values of
focused economic management, prudence, transparency and financial discipline;
Being
also deeply concerned about far-reaching irregularities under Mallam
Sanusi’s watch which have distracted the Central Bank away from the pursuit and
achievement of its statutory mandate; and
Being
determined to urgently re-position the Central Bank of Nigeria for greater
efficiency, respect for due process and accountability, President Goodluck
Ebele Jonathan has ordered the immediate suspension of Mallam Sanusi Lamido
Sanusi from the Office of Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
President
Jonathan has further ordered that Mallam Sanusi should hand over to the most
senior Deputy Governor of the CBN, Dr Sarah Alade who will serve as Acting
Governor until the conclusion of on-going investigations into breaches of
enabling laws, due process and mandate of the CBN.
The
President expects that as Acting Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Alade will
focus on the core mandate of the Bank and conduct its affairs with greater
professionalism, prudence and propriety to restore domestic and international
confidence in the country’s apex bank.
The
Federal Government of Nigeria reassures all stakeholders in Nigeria’s financial
and monetary system that this decision has been taken in absolute good faith,
in the overall interest of the Nigerian economy and in accordance with our laws
and due process.

ReplyDeleteHe shuld be monitored closely Efcc shuld watch him closely
ReplyDeleteLol.... 99 days for the OLE 1 day for the Onile
ReplyDeleteThe Guy Na armed robber. They need to put him for jail. He said last week that bank shd go and sack more staffs. He has a wecked hearth. God will judge him.
ReplyDeleteMr. Sanusi has don not wrong, it is not a crime to open up that Money is missing, 20Billion Dollar can transform part of this country, anyway, I hv realized that the activities of this present administration is not transparent, I tot Mr. President promised transparency when he came to Power, God help Us.
ReplyDeleteWith his fluctuation of the real amount? His confuse
DeleteHow come this suspension is coming at the time Sanusi is making statling allegations against the NNPC on missing $20b dollas. I hope it is not a smart way to cover up or scuttle investigation.
ReplyDeleteSanusi talks too much very unlike a good central bank gov. His words mostly are usually conflicting. He spends without guide and equally accuse others of same
ReplyDeleteI thought b4 nw dat he's untouchable.
ReplyDeleteIt is apparent that Jonathan hates transparency, Sanusi should be commended for bringing transparency to the banking industry. Jonathan is playing politics with every thing . Sanusi identified the fraud in the petroleum industry over the non existing kerosine subsidy which if properly investigated, Jonathan is the masterminder. The National Assembly should over rule the suspension to save Nigeria from imminent financial collapse . History will judge Jonathan as the most corrupt president that Nigeria ever had.
ReplyDeleteEbere will lead this country somewhere. But surely not to a good destination. Sanusi might be bad, but sincerely is not been suspended because of that. He's been suspended because he exposed GEJ from every angle. Some foolish Nigeria are rejoicing. GEJ did this so as to get money for 2015 Election. If Sanusi remains, he will continue to expose all the Billions of Dollars that the thief called Ebere is carrying through his ATM Cards such as Oduah, NNPC and others. Jonathan has never said anything about the looted Dollars, rather he wants the Man that reveal the looting sacked. I don't want to pronounce judgment on any man, but if really Jona is not representing the poor masses that put him there, God will surely judge him.
ReplyDeleteIs only Allah dat knows who is really serving us amongst all dese leaders we have.I know one thg for sure dat everybody will account for his/her deed .
ReplyDeleteSo quick. Too fast. So u can sack sanusi. Jonathan allah wil judge u ooo. Mr jonathan is d most corrupt man and president on earth. The northerners shld raise up and fight 4 lamido sanusi, u sacked dis man cuz he dey expose u people. Dis matter, allegation shld be investigated thoroughly. Lamido sanusi is sayin d true. U are all ole, thieves. Now mr president has brought an igbo man to head cbn in order to cover up 4 him. Mr president u'r a wicked man, why u no sack petroleum minister also, u are all theives. If any hausa man is readin my comment u people shld react now fast fast. D senate and house of reps shld investigate d billions dollars involved nigerians want to no d truth. Give us d real picture.
ReplyDeleteWe will talk mr president we won't keep quite.
ReplyDeleteIts plain and simple mr president is a thief.
And he loves dealing with thieves and he brings them to his cabinet.
Gone too soon RIP Islamic Bank.
ReplyDeleteSanusi couldn't solve a simple arithmetic. Which figure re we going to accept? Yesterday he claimed that $49b was missing, later he said it was an error that was $12b, now he is saying that it is $20b that was missing because since 1st week of May last year Sanusi was giving a query of #250b that he (Sanusi) stold from the federation account to answer. Sanusi is not only a rag head but, he is also a block head Boozoo.
ReplyDeleteGood ridance for bad rubbish! Sanusi is a confussionist. Playing APC politics with the apex bank. He should go and get his acts right instead of confusing Nigerians with conflicting figures.
ReplyDeletewhat prompt for sanusi sack? there shld be a tangible reasons for that action mr.president,is he not doing his work as he ought to do it or what?
