University Don's Wife Commits Suicide

The University town of Ekpoma, in Edo State was thrown into mourning yesterday, when the wife of the former registrar of the Ambrose Alli Unversity, Mrs. Kate Edokpayi, was found dead after committing suicide.

Her dangling body was discovered by her husband, Mr. Larry Edokpayi, in one of the rooms in their boy’s quarters.
Although she did not leave any suicide note, it was, however, learnt that she might have been frustrated over her health challenges.
It was gathered that she had repeatedly expressed frustration over her inability to get cure for her diabetic condition.

It was learnt that the husband, who recently retired from the service of the university, had suspected kidnapping after a long search before he was advised to check the boy’s quarters.
On getting to the quarters, he was said to have observed that the door was bolted from behind and forced  it  open. He was shocked to see the dangling body of his wife at the ceiling.
She was an Assistant Director with the Edo State Ministry of Education, overseeing the ministry’s office in the Ekpoma before her death

  1. That husband of hers should be properly questioned and investigated, plus an autopsy should be carried out on that body to determine the real cause and time of death. It all sounds too convenient.

    1. Thank you for this, it really sounds too convenient. Diabetics that can be managed. Most of these lecturers frustrate their wives so much, keeping late nights, flirting, treating their wives with so much impunity. The husband should be properly quized.

  4. The husband should really be questioned properly. Its hard to believe that a woman who is doing well as an assitant director in the ministry to take her own life due to health ish that can be managed. It wasn't stated in anywhere that it has gotten so bad as to affect her job, meaning she was still strong and until her death, she was still working as a staff of the ministry. I think there's something more about her death. Like 8:37am said, autopsy should be carried out nd a proper investigation. God rest her soul!
