We, the
Taraba People's Vanguard across the 35 states of the federation have followed
very keenly political developments in our state from the time our amiable
governor, Pharmacist Danbaba Danfulani Suntai was involved in that unfortunate
air crash which the Almighty God in His infinite mercies rescued him from
death. Unfolding political developments in the state since that time have been
very shameful and especially the recent desperate moves to hijack the free
mandate given Governor Danbaba Suntai by the overwhelming majority of Tarabans.
We decided to be quiet hoping that the tide would change for good. It was our belief that the political class in the state would put aside their individual selfish interest and in the greater interest of the entire people of Taraba, quickly resolve what we felt and still do fell is a minor problem.
However, from the body language of some political charlatans and opportunists in Taraba State, it would seem that many of them actually celebrated the air crash of Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai and had really wished he never survived it. How else can the ungodly attitude of these despondent power seekers in the company of Alhaji Garba Umar, the gold digger be described?
For God's sake, somebody should tell the APPOINTED Deputy Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar the home truth that the generality of the people of Taraba State don't know him. The people of Taraba State did not enter into any social contract with him (Umar) to govern them. We did not see his posters. It was Pharmacist Danbaba Danfulani Suntai who approached the good people of Taraba State asking for their mandate and he it was that the Taraba people gave their mandate. Let it be known that that mandate is still sacrosanct and can only expire by the 29th May 2015. Anybody who wants to govern Taraba State should wait until that time, and then go round the 16 Local Government Areas to seek the peoples' mandate.
Having said these, we wish to state categorically that Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai either in his capacity as governor or as a private citizen of Taraba State does NOT NEED the permission or knowledge of anybody, anywhere and anytime - including Alhaji Garba Umar to travel to anywhere so he wishes. It is ridiculous to hear the likes of Silas Jafta who is known to be one of those unpatriotic Tarabans in the pay package of the appointed Deputy Governor masquerading under a fake body called Taraba Concerned Indigenes questioning why a seating governor could travel to Abuja to see Mr. President without the knowledge of his appointed deputy. This is the height of disrespect for a superior.
That the people of Taraba have decided to be quiet all this while should not be misconstrued for cowardice or ignorance of what to do constitutionally. We have watched some political hawks taking undue advantage of our peaceful disposition to the extent that they now want to finally hijack power through the back door from our constitutionally and democratically elected governor. Enough is enough!
It is rather funny and unfortunate that Silas Jafta who was indisputably sponsored by his master, the appointed Deputy Governor to address that press conference, all in an attempt to save for himself a job he was not given by the good people of Taraba tried to call the patriotic and genuine lovers of our state and Governor Danbaba Suntai a cabal.
We wish to advice Jafta and his sponsors to quickly arise from their day time dreaming because the cat has since been let out of the bag. The Deputy Governor and his cohorts have all this while continued to lie and deceive the world first, that he is loyal to Governor Danbaba Suntai and that the governor is still sick and incapable of running the state so as to allow him the chance to continue to plunder the lean resources of our state.
Is it not an irony that the man who Alhaji Garba Umar and his team of Taraba Treasury looters want the world to believe is still mentally unfit to run the state had gone to his office under the watchful eyes of a medical team and during that visit, went round the offices as he used to do before the plane crash, spent hours before he finally returned home? Where were the Jaftas on the cross-over night prayer session when Governor Suntai stood up and thanked God for spearing his life and giving him the opportunity in the first place to rule Taraba State? Where were the Jaftas when he went ahead to appreciate the former governor of the state, Rev Jolly Nyame for laying the solid foundation which he (Suntai) said nobody could surpass for building the state? What could be the greatest desecration of our constitution except a situation where members of the state Assembly who swore to protect our constitution and do right would for ulterior motives jettison the clear and unambiguous provisions of the constitution as provided in Section .. only to empower an impostor to usurp under whatsoever guise, an office he was never elected to occupy.
Be it known to Jafta, the appointed Deputy Governor and the members of Taraba State House of Assembly that Taraba People are closely following their nefarious activities including the N20b bond loan collected in the name of the state for the wicked purposes of financing his (Umar's) campaigns in 2015. This was a loan Governor Suntai himself rejected there is therefore no rationale for collecting the loan. Taraba People's Vanguard wishes to caution very seriously members of Taraba State House of Assembly and the appointed Deputy Governor Alhaji Garba Umar to desist forthwith, the wasteful spending spree of Taraba tax payers' money to retain a mandate he does not own.
We have already briefed our lawyers who shall in no distant time begin the legal process of ejecting him completely even as appointed Deputy Governor. Meanwhile, in their own interest, members of Taraba State House of Assembly are advised to do the legal and needful thing by restoring Governor Suntai to office as they prevented him from resuming office in clear violation of the constitution of the Federal republic of Nigeria.

If you have the intetest of the state in mind you should have advise Danbaba Suntai to resign
ReplyDeleteTaraba peoples vanguard or what ever you call your self,even if taraba people did nt know the acting governor but i believe he's nt a foreigner or a non indigiene of taraba state,afterall u were alive when suntai appointed him y won't you complain then that u don't him.as for you going to court to remove garba that statement simply means u are completely ignorant of our constitution.lastly a mad man who cannot distinguished between aso rock villa in abuja and jalingo d taraba state capital is still mad.
