The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the
nomination of four new security chiefs sent by President Goodluck Jonathan.
The Senate confirmed Air Marshal Alex Badeh, Major General Kenneth Minimah, Rear Admiral Usman Jibrin and Air Vice Marshal Adesola Amosu on Thursday after considering the report of their screening.
Lawmakers tasked the officers to bring their wealth of experience to bear in addressing insecurity in the country.
This is the first time since 1999 that the nation's security chiefs are being subjected to the senate's approval.
