THE Movement for the Actualisation of
the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), on Wednesday, said Nigeria’s existence
as an entity no longer legal, adding that it has expired.
According to its national director of
information, Uchenna Mmadu, in a document issued to newsmen on Wednesday, the
group said the expiration of Nigeria as an entity was based on the expiration
of the amalgamation of Southern and Northern protectorate by the then British
colonial masters in 1914.
Mmadu said the amalgamation by the
British was to be experimented for 100 years, to know if it was going to work
or not, adding that now, people of Southern and Northern Nigeria must come
together to enter a new agreement under their own terms.
He said though the document was kept
secret, it was generally known to the ruling class, scholars of political
science and law, as well as the government of the United Kingdom.
“There has been consistent efforts by
the Nigerian government to keep the knowledge out of the public, as it may lead
to agitation for breaking the country into two.
“The awareness of the document and
the closeness of 2014 has been causing panic among the Northern elite; this
panic was behind the previous comment by the Senate President that Nigeria will
not break up when the late president of Libya, Muammar Gaddafi, called for
break-up of Nigeria.
“It was also behind the warning by
NBA president in Benin this week that Nigeria may break up. Even President
Goodluck Jonathan is nervous about this fact; remember that he kept on saying
that Nigeria will not break up.
“Also, it was the real reason behind
the Northern governors’ security meeting in Kaduna, according to our secret
intelligent agencies.
“All these sudden talks about Nigeria
breaking or not breaking up by the political leaders, including the president,
show how anxious they are about the implications of the document and the
closeness of 2014,” Mmadu said.
Mmadu recalled that the knowledge of
the document was behind the prediction by American diplomats that Nigeria would
break up before 2015, adding that the United States (US) army was also
preparing on how to respond to the possible break-up of Nigeria.
He said Nigeria leaders were
hypocrites, as no ethnic group believed in the existence of Nigeria.
“How can we continue to deceive
ourselves that we love Nigeria while about 12 northern governors introduce
Islamic religions law (Sharia) as their state constitutional law?
“Some state governors have introduced
their coat of arms, flags, anthem and other ethnic identities. Some persons in
Nigeria are more powerful than Nigerian constitution and the law.
“Corruption is being celebrated in
high and low places of Nigeria and the judicial system is so weak that it has
become a willing tool for witch hunting,” he said.
He maintained that the implication of
the expiration of Nigeria’s amalgamation was a clarion call to all ethnic
pressure groups to rise in defence of their people, culture, tradition and
future, in order to be free from mental slavery.

ReplyDeleteHmmm, Nigeria will survive it by God grace nd notin will happen nd for those callin for d breakup let me remind them in 1914 nd wat God has join 2geda.......
ReplyDeleteWit this hand northernas have started using now! Let them allowed good luck to complet his tenur nah if they want us to remain for one nigeria and also to ament constutution.
DeleteSinnce d 1914 almagamation constitution specify dat after 100 year d diferent ethnic groups can go their separate ways, it think is a good opportunity. The 3 ethnic groups shld organise Conference where dey wil able to discuss d togetherness, I mean d unity of dis country. Unfortunately, d 3 major ethnic group dnt have much in common except we want to decieve our selves interms of religion (belief), aspiration, historical background to mention to but few, especially d north who belief dat dey're born to rule. I dnt think rotational of presidency is a good idea if indeed d 3 gruops (yoruba, hausa and igbo) really want to practice democracy in d true sense of it. We must be ready to practice federalism in totality. Nigerians need to see demselves as one, goegraphically one must be free to live in any party of d country witout fair of been intimidated or attack. However, I belief we shld go our separate ways cuz since a section doesn't belief in d unity (oneness) of dis country, d absence of inequality, uneven distribution of resources all dese are d issues dat require urgent attention, need to b resolve. Other issues dat need to be discuss are nepotism, and favourism. The hausa strongely belief dat nigeria belong to dem and can do anything wit d country destiny. May God help us.
