The
Inspector-General of Police, IGP MD Abubakar, CFR, NPM, mni, psc has ordered a
full-scale investigation into the incident, last Sunday, in Rivers State, where
the Police have been alleged to have shot Senator Magnus Abe with
rubber bullets.
In a bid to
ensure a speedy probe of the incident, a special team of investigators from the
Force CID, headed by CP Idris Umar Farouk, is to visit the scene of the
incident and also interview all relevant parties to the said incident,
including the organizers of the said event, Police officers and other key
witnesses, so as to obtain a full and unbiased account of the incident that
will aid the ongoing investigation.
While
promising to maintain fairness and justice to all, the IGP has calls on the
citizens of the state to cooperate with the investigative team, maintain calm
and shun all inflammatory or presumptuous statements. He further urged the good
people of Rivers State to continue to respect the laws at the land while going
about their normal businesses.

I can't run away from the truth, the issue is that Mbu and echelons over exaggerated the conception of the rally that was organised, u can't throw away but the baby and the water away. Since Mbu doesn't hv apathy for innocent citizens he must be brought to book. Am a philosopher some persons may not understand my yardsitck of comment.
ReplyDeleteIs mbu untouchable? For almost a year rivers state has been thrown into chaos with out any body raising an eye brow. Security is zero and the state almost ungovernable. Mbu rules because he is elected by the first lady.
ReplyDeleteMy fear & worry is if Mbu goes they might redploy someone who might be more difficult than Mbu in other to satisfy his masters•To me Rivers govt & people shld learn to leave with two governors•Rotimi Amaechi governor admin & Joseph Mbu governor operations•
