David & Destiny PR Consulting,
a Lagos based Public Relations outfit will on January 20, 2014 launch The Communicat, a web-based Brand Hub
and Entertainment Website.
In a statement issued in
Lagos, the company, (which has Atim Nkpubre, a veteran public relations
practitioner and Niran Adedokun, a former entertainment correspondent for
Saturday Punch and Deputy Features Editor for THISDAY, as principal officers),
said that the website would be an inclusive platform for showcasing activities
in the marketing communications sector as well as an interview portal for
personalities in the music, film and fashion industries.
According to Adedokun, who
signed the statement, the website has two principal areas of focus, namely,
Brand Hub which focuses on the marketing, advertising, public relations,
events, sponsorships, branding, media and related sub-sectors and Entertainment
Dialogue, a platform that celebrates personalities in the entertainment
industry in Nigeria.
Entertainment Dialogue in
the words of Adedokun “can be accessed through www.thecommunicat.com. It would look at
the positive things that people are doing in these industries through exclusive
interviews intended to provide first-hand information and entertainment for
their fans and other stakeholders. We will also have a review and an events
column all of which would help in bridging the gap between lovers of Nigerian
entertainment and the industry.
The Communicat first made
its debut in February 2013 as a niche blog for marketing communications and
related businesses, but owing to expansion it has been upgraded to a website
that also features Entertainment
Dialogue and a review section in addition to Brand Hub. The Communicat will
occasionally feature contributors like Toni Kan Onwordi, an award winning writer
and communication specialist and a number of others.
