Amaechi Is A Huge Failure..Dumo Lulu Briggs

The Rivers State Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has been blamed for the crisis in Rivers State by stakeholders. Addressing Newsmen recently at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Rivers State Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs said people have been going through a hard situation since Governor Amaechi’s administration in Rivers State, to an extent that about 80 percent of the populace are angry and hungry, adding that the Rivers State Governor runs a government that is not open for everybody, whether economical and political.
Chief Briggs stated that what every person expects from any leader is good governance and as a leader, if you run a government where about 80 percent of the people are hungry such government is a failure, because any house that is divided would never stand. “United they said we stand, he said.”
The young Kalabari born politician and onetime chairman of Maritime Academy, Oron, in Akwa Ibom State maintained that, His Excellency, Gov. Amaechi may be pointing accusing finger at stakeholders as people that do not want the progress of the state, yet it is a fact that, the people are angry.
He said, civil servants salaries have been cut down and most of the Commissioners are stooges, even as the House of Assembly in the State, is not functioning, the extent that members now meet in the Hotels and Government House auditorium.
He used the medium to fault the recently passed 2014 Rivers State Appropriation Bill into law at the Banquet Hall of the Rivers State Government House, instead of the Hallow Chamber of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Port Harcourt, pointing out that, there are three arms of Government, the Legislature, Executive, and the judiciary, which ought to be independent and for the members of the House to ignore the Hallow Chamber and went to Government House to perform their legislative duties, where the executives meet meant that, they have lost out, describing it as uncalled for.
However, Hon Dumo Lulu Briggs admitted that it is not late for Gov. Amaechi to reconcile with his people because, peace is the only panacea to unity and is not perfect except God and as a leader when you make mistakes, you should consult your people and listen to opinions.
He also recalled that Hon. Amaechi’s emergence as a governor since 2007 was God's hand and when God anointed you and you deviate or forget, it means that such person has no conscience.
He called on Rivers people to give their full support to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

  9. Can you define failure for me? Compare Ameachi's leadership stride and other PDP governors and you will know that all that is happening in rivers is personal ambition of Wike and useless Jonathan . In Jesus name your planes will never succeed. Ameachi is anointed by God, take it or leave it.

  14. Is a fact that all those who commented don't know Rivers State, Chf O.B. Lulu Briggs is the highest philantropist Rivers State has ever had, Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs is very very rich, his just advicing Ameachi to stop the fight he will never win, this fight has affected all govt and economic activities in the state, govt now removes upto 40k, 50k, 80k etc from Civil servants salaries esp health workers just to fight a never win battle, Ameachi started very win, people like Soyinka should not because of selfish cheap money his getting from him mislead him into a pestilencial water. Look at states like Akwai ibom, Delta, Cross River etc all in the South South, governance is flourishing now in Rivers State, no Chief Judge of the state, no House of Assembly and no guaranted security. Readers anybody who advices Ameachi to continue this never win fight hates him and Rivers State. Well said Dumo Lulu Briggs. Precious in PH

  17. We humans do not accept sometimes that we have the abilities to fight until when faced with a battle, let us kill all forms of blindness and face the facts: the leadership of our dear Rivers state was limping and we all agreed hopefully that she may walk having voted for the present government- "hope is one of the problems humans have and disappointment most times is inevitable" sir Walton T. Orubibi; how can 'the family' agree to make 'their son' their leader because they saw hope in him and he himself promised the family that he won't let them down and pledged to give good leadership then when given power decides to break the pledges he made with the family and turn his back on the family that made him, left them and went away with his 'new friends' who do not even know how he was made? I tell you the truth if the new friends tries to caution him there is every possibility that he may even abandon them as well and make new friends. So tell me once again please; why will Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs who was there, assisted him in his making not correct or rebuke him? You do not throw blows to a brother if he does not misbehave and even if you must you should open your eyes to throw such blows because he in turn may have acid alongside him. Talking of being 'rich and spoilt', who even asked anyone's opinion on such statement, is it not preferable for one to be 'rich and spoilt' than 'poor and stupid'? The Holy Bible in the book of Proverbs said- "a fools jaw does not lack blows". For even John F. Kennedy was said to be "rich and spoilt" and was once an American president so what is the need of not facing the fact? The state that was limping is now crawling and you ask where has a honourable man of such calibre come from? I think it is mis asked- it should be; where has he been? For there's time for everything, when one child has forsaken us let's give room for the other and not speaking blindly. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing" sir Edmund Burke. Similarly Jesus Christ said in the book of Matthew "if you do not build with me, you scatter which makes you against me". 'stripes for stripes, dots for dots'. By your stripes we now know you are not for us the Rivers people. Good work sir, alas a voice that speaks for the Rivers people. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, 2015 we will standby you sir. God bless Nigeria, God bless Rivers state and God bless Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs.

  20. Chief Briggs could have written his letter (since it is a season of letters) without referring to Rivers people as Hungry people. That to me was in bad taste. He should have followed the footstep of Tonye Princewill who also advised Amaechi without insulting our sensitivity..
