Federal Government should respect the aggrement they under took between them and Asuu is not the matter of sacking of lecturers who feel the aggrement is not respected, but for UNN and ESUT if you allow your self to be treated politically this way I'm sorry for you, tour learned ! I've no word to tell you other than "in unity we stand while decided we fall"
ReplyDeleteSelfish unity. It is high time Fed Govt hands off mgt of Universities to private and missionaries. They initially requested 4 autonomy and yet still depended on govt funds. They delibrately admits students more than capacity and at the end cry of poor funding. Most of them become jealous of politicians that amassed more wealth to themselves and rather than resigning their appointment to join politics uses unnecesary strikes to request for increment while blaming Govt for poor funding as excuse. These nonsence persist because Govt liberalize university teaching job that is why a lecturer can lecture in more than three universities including other part times. That is why they can afford to be holding the students and Govt to ransome. No dedication to duty. University mgt to most Vcs and deptal Heads has become a chop and go biz. Any attempt by Govt to probe into how released funds are spent by university authourity is usually met with threat of strike by asuu.

ReplyDeleteCan you see yourself, very soon I pray you will join the system and I believed what the ASUU are fighting for will soon clear to each and everyone of us who has been to the university education before. As for your comment above I can't blame you we know people like you, political tug looking for what to eat under the unbrella of student unionism. Federal government has started playing their game they did in 2009 agreement and 2012 memorandum of understanding and they should allow that to stand again. ASUU some of us are still brhind you, this should be the end of the game, anytime the government are ready we resume and continue our study enough is enough. Is this how the university they send their children to used to be?
