THE
remains of the former national chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
Chief Solomon Lar, is to arrive at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja, today, for a
burial series expected to end on December 15.
Lar, a pioneer chairman of PDP and former governor of Plateau State, died at the age of 80 in an American hospital after a protracted illness.
Speaking while briefing journalists in Abuja on funeral arrangements, former Minister of Information and chairman of the national funeral planning committee, Professor Jerry Gana, said a national commendation service would be held for the late Lar in Abuja, including a memorial lecture in his honour.
He disclosed that the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Hassan Kukah, would be the guest speaker at the memorial lecture.
According to him, the remains would be committed to mother earth on December 13, after a state funeral service scheduled to hold at Rwang Pam township stadium, Plateau State.
