Poser: Do You Support FG's Threat Or Should ASUU Call Off The Strike?

The FG yesterday issued another threat on ASUU members to resume work or be sacked. The ding dong affair has been on for over five months with the FG/ASUU failing to reach a compromise on contending issues. When two elephants fight, the grass suffers. Our able body young men and women have been staying at home doing nothing in the past five months..Since idle hand is the devils workshop, some of them have been forced into engaging in some nefarious activities. Some Universities like UNN,Unilag,ESUT,UniAbuja etc have indicated their readiness to open their gates to students in few days time..Bearing all these in mind,do you support the FG's threat to sack Lecturers who refuse to resume work or should the lecturers continue with the strike until ALL their demands are met (Take note of the word ALL)

  2. I think they must have taken their Ogogoro as usual. Nigerian Education system is much more than that.

  4. The lecturers did not close the univeristies, they simply stopped teaching and as a consequence there was no point for the students hanging around on campuses any longer so the VC's shut the schools till Asuu calls of strike. So if the government wants the schools to open by December 4, that's just ok the question is will the lecturers start teaching by that date? Of what use is a student on campus without lecturers to teach! We shall see!!!

  5. In all cases, before peace, there must be and collateral damage, in many cases, even the innocent. That being said, if this will solve the rot in our education sector, then let it be on for 2yrs. I faced it and wouldn't want a carry over of strike to my children. That's our sacrifice for the next generation else the merry go round will continue 10yrs down the line.

  10. I strongly believe that ASUU has over done their strike. Let them return to work with immediate effect. Negotiation is about give and take, you cannot maintain a very hard position and you expect government to meet all your demands. As it stands they are trying to humiliate the Mr President despite his intervention in the matter. ASUU is not the only trade union in the country, should NLC go on strike for a week, the nation will shut down. Let ASUU see reason and take caution because their services can be dispensed with. They are loosing sympathy very fast with Nigerians.

The fedral government position would have being supported if they are truely ditermined to end the stike and provide better incentives for us has to studient. Really I suppot the fedral govt action but I also don't support there inaction to more sensitives issue in the country like the crisis in the education sector. They need to provide the needed fund to develop more capital proect than investing or saving money for no good reason

  16. I sorry sorry o. This govt is meddling with Nigeria's future. Any govt that neglect education will produce militant and terrorists. If govt don't trust these lecturers, they should go and supervise the utilization of the money themself

  17. No compromise should be made until their demands are fully met as we have abundant resources to meet the demands of our respected teachers. Do you ever think of the huge amount of money that are being looted by our leaders! The demands are nothing in compared to what have been spending on some ppl in 9yja

  18. Assu should go and die according to Comrade Oshiomole to a widow. Enough is enough. Let them go back to work or be sacked.

  21. *****Nigeria - A Zoological Garden!*****

Can the so called leaders do anything? Can they succeed?

    Of course not!

    Why?

If they can not simply preside over their families successfully, how can they direct the multitude of people like this? For instance, power has not being regular since 1960, that is 53 years ago! If they have not succeeded for 50 years, forget it, they will never succeed! Never! Not in this life time!! So don't trust them. For 48 hours there's no power supply in Gbagada! In the city not village! Come on, they can't succeed but will go from bad to worse corruption-wise!!!

Now they are proposing to increase fixed charge from N750 to N1,500 for domestic use, i.e. Whether you consume power or not, you will pay N1,500! Monthly subscription for Access Bouquet on many cable TVs which will be for 24 hours service for a month!

Fixed charge for some industrial usage is N22,170 a month excluding VAT, whether you have power supply or not!

So Nigerians are now "the green field and ripe for harvest", while people in government are the reapers!

Educational sector? Health sector? State of the road networks? Rate of unemployment?

Yet someone is proposing 2017 to be the next year of presidential election. Someone bought 2 cars of N240m each, at least, so we heard! Some others are fighting with all they have that they want to "lead" people to enrich their pocket.

I can go on and on. In fact, Nigeria as a nation is like a Zoological Garden. Very interesting to visit like a tourist center.

It is no wonder then that the whites, including Chinese, Lebanese, Taiwan etc are very much interested to come and study our economic-behaviour, social-behaviour and intelligence like we do when we visit the Z**.

Our "leader" have captured us and they're getting a "FEE" from the Asians and the Western world to come and watch us! What a pity!!
