Baring any change in plan, embattled Minister
of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah and other aviation chiefs will appear before the
Senate Committee on Aviation, today.
Oduah had been summoned by the upper legislative chamber to explain her roles in the ill-fated 23-year -old aircraft of the Associated Airlines that crashed in Lagos last month.
She could not appear before the Senate on Wednesday as she was said to have had sought a last minute permission from the senators to attend the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
It was learnt the minister was billed to appear on Wednesday before she sent “a last minute letter to the Senate leadership on Tuesday evening, requesting for another date to enable her to attend the FEC meeting.”
It was gathered that Oduah’s request was granted and the Senate committee fixed her appearance for Thursday (today).
The senators, it was learnt, would also be free to ask the minister specific questions on the current N255m vehicle scandal rocking her ministry
