The
remains of the late former Chief of General Staff (CGS), Vice-Admiral Mike
Akhigbe, would arrive the Nnamidi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja
tomorrow.
The
remains of the former number two citizen who gave up the ghost at his New York
residence on Monday would depart JF Kennedy International Airport, New York
last night.
According
to the report, some of the late Akhigbe’s children, his wife, daughters-in-law
and associates who are already in New York would follow the remains to Nigeria
in a chartered aircraft.
The
report stated that Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state of Edo state
who will receive the body of the late CGS at the airport in Abuja, had sent a
representative of the state government to accompany the remains from New York.
It
would be recalled that Akhigbe, who left a hospital recently, passed on
while receiving visitors in his house, following some complications in the
middle of a conversation with his guests. Efforts to revive him proved abortive
and he was later confirmed dead in a New York hospital.
