NUPENG accused the government of
being insensitive to the plight of Nigerians.
It noted that the way the government
has been acting on the ASUU strike portrayed it as unconcerned about the
nation’s suffering.
NUPENG’s National President Igwe
Achese spoke at the weekend in Lagos when he announced the union’s delegates’
conference which will hold on October 17 in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State
capital.
Achese noted that the “nation’s
foundation is shaking because our future leaders and their children are not
attending our local universities”.
According to him, the Federal
Government owes it as a duty to end the strike.
The union leader urged the
government to respect the agreement it signed with ASUU in 2009, adding that
the government should see itself as an employer of labour.
He said: “It is particularly
shocking that the government has carried on as if everything is normal, without
bothering about the fate of the students who have been marooned at home since
the strike started. Perhaps this is because the children and wards of those at
the helm of affairs are luxuriating in schools abroad, or because they are too
comfortable to worry about their less-fortunate compatriots.”
Achese attributed the incessant
strikes in the country to the fact that the Ministry of Labour had not been
performing its duties.

Good one Sir, I wish all dos big fools wil reason as U̶̲̥̅̊ do.
ReplyDeleteFanks for dat pressure on federal government.
ReplyDeleteIt takes only those thieves not to reason well. Nigerians know that they don't want to pay this money so as to get enough money for campaign.
ReplyDeleteIts only a foolish person that will commend the Federal Government for not meeting up with the agreement they signed with ASUU. Its so surprising to still hear some idiots saying ASUU should just resume that their own is getting too much. Which of them will collect N30 out of his N90. Its so unfair, they would have even pay 50% or 75% so that we will know whom to face. Why won't they even pay all. Is it that Nigeria did not have such an amount or they just don't want to pay?
They pay politician as at when due. They should try not pay them for one month so that we will see reaction or use part of the Politician money to pay ASUU since politicians are public's servants. Which one is even more important, the political thieves and rogues that call themselves politician or the lecturers that dictates the futures of our children and Nigeria as a country.
S.O.R.
God is not asleep, in due time, he will punish them all. Who are the leaders of tomorrow in Nigeria? Is it not the old fools still on the sit so those calling the youths leaders of tomorrow are making mistake cause we as youth dont have any position in the country, we are not in their budget at all.
ReplyDeleteI salute u sir!
