Exposed:Italian Firm Threatens Nigerian Workers

The bizarre attitude of some foreign companies operating in Nigeria has once again come to the fore. It is an established fact that foreigners especially Chinese, Indians and Lebanese companies treat Nigerians under their employment as third rated citizens. They are denied adequate working environment and treated like slaves even in their own country.
Several times, Nigeria Labour authorities have not deemed it fit to take on these companies.
Several Nigerians have lost their lives and even forfeited their meager salaries to these fraudulent foreigners.
They employ Nigerians as casual workers and lay them off at their discretion without adequate compensation even when they are paid peanuts.
Take for example this memo from an Italian construction company operating in Nigeria with branches in Lagos & Enugu .This was placed in their branches & sent into the mails of senior staff.
The company Marlum Nigeria Ltd stated that it will no longer pay its workers at the end of every month rather based on availability of funds In a memo signed by its Managing Director (pic). It went further to ask anyone who is not interested with the new arrangement to resign his or her job.
In which other part of the world does this type of Labour law of engagement exist?.

  4. There is highly annoying! It is an obvious indication that these foriegn companies especially the ones owned by indians have no respect for Nigerian laws as well as Nigerian people. I have worked in Italy and this kind of thing doesn't exist. Infact their government can take serious actions on this company if they are aware. NLC, COREN, TRADE UNION, please take time to investigate and find out how the operations of these companies with respect to their employees conditions of service. They usually capitalize on the weakness of our policies implemantation and corruption to perpetuate their nefarious activities. Most of them register as road construction companies meanwhile they render engineering services to oil and gas firms. This is exploitation of the highest order!!! NLC and COREN please save our people!!

I want to believe that those who sat together and wrote NJIC constitution all came from a very poor family .imagine, paying workers #31,000 per month with this present high cost of living and they only increase every two years with pin nut .no board was set to eradicate casual working and right of worker.mtweew .I'm fed up for our leaders.
