The Peoples Democratic Party has said
that the Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN), is not the best governor
in Nigeria.
The PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr.
Olisa Metuh, who said this in an interview with journalists in Abuja, said
there were PDP governors who had done better than Fashola.
“I disagree with the view that
Fashola is the best governor in Nigeria. There are PDP governors who did better
than Fashola in terms of delivering dividends of democracy to their people.
Have you been to Akwa Ibom, Jigawa, Cross Rivers and some other states that are
being ruled by PDP governors?” Metuh said.
He said the seven governors who left
the PDP performed better that Fashola and that the party was still proud of
them despite their disagreement with the Bamangar Tukur-led executive.
He said, “The seven governors that
said they had left the PDP are all great achievers. They have done well in
their respective states and we are proud of them.
“The only grievance we have against
them is that if they express the same commitment with which they transformed their
states to the PDP, our party would have been greater.
“How can you say Fashola has
performed better than our governors? I think the problem is that we don’t go to
the media to shout. You need to visit those states and see the kind of
development I am talking about.”
He said the PDP would not remove
Tukur as a pre-condition for reconciling with its aggrieved members and that
members of the party seeking for the chairman’s removal as a precondition for
reconciliation without recourse to due process was not only undemocratic but
unfair.

ReplyDeleteI don't knw why Nigerians are praising governors for wht dey av done, I mean is dere duty to perform bcos dey are been voted in by ppl of there various state. Why can't we praising d doctors in d hospital or the common cleaner sweeping d roads

ReplyDeletefor me, there is still nothing to convince me about all these noises of lagos doing fine. Lagos is still a big ghetto. wonder how some will feel when they see real govt at work.
ReplyDeletePeople should not forget that lagos use to be the federal capital teritory of this country,ãήϑ for that reason,a lot ☀ƒ developement in terms ☀ƒ infrastructures were already on ground,ãήϑ lots ☀ƒ companies were situated there,so if we ª̳͡яε talking about alocation from FG,its satain that Akwa Ibom gets more,but for the fact that major companies ª̳͡яε situated in lagos state,the state generates lots ☀ƒ money from internal revenue so let's put money aside,what matters Ȋ̝̊̅§ the zeal to work.I think the both Govs tried. Can you compair Lagos to Abj?
ReplyDeleteI completely disagree wth gov fashola surpass gov akpabio in all ramifications,is the civil service staff strenght,population of residence or economic activities yet gov fashola still on top of all challenges.fahola ride on you are the best.
ReplyDeleteAkwa Ibom collects the highest allocation apart from the mega 13% but yet lagos is d best in terms of performance. Akpabio is just a deception
ReplyDeleteLagos generates more revenues than any state in Nigeria, even when Anambra state was borrowing to pay their workers , Lagos was increasing salary of workers despite being denied allocation for almost a year durin Obasanjos's regime
ReplyDeleteYes, could u imagine the populatns of lagos and amenities but I can see dt fashola hv changed many old structure 2 new structure accordingly, this's new lagos, go to oshodi, idumota, ojota and so on, APC state are more better than PDP state, when we want 2 talk of work satisfactn 4get PDP they'r no where 2 be found meanwhile APC would promised and it'll be done , so if we'r talkin of best and mentor , it's FashoLa if not bcos of fshola's good work non of PDP could hv stil remain choppin our money but they findout that our eyes are open...I don't want 2 talk much most PDP govr are stil followin fashola on hid Good deed
