Wife
of the Proprietor of Upper Class Hotel where two human heads and other items
were discovered by the police in Onitsha has raised the alarm over the safety
of her husband.
Mrs.
Nkiru Mokwe, a lawyer, said the life of her husband was in danger and appealed
to President Goodluck Jonathan and Senate President David Mark to intervene in
the matter while they pursue justice. “My husband was arrested and detained at
Central Police Station, CPS, Onitsha. When the Commissioner of Police was
petitioned, he was moved to Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Awkuzu. My husband is
being detained in a very de-humanizing condition at SARS Awkuzu, and the police
have denied him access to his lawyer and relations,” she said.
“My
husband’s hotel at No 8 Old Market Road Onitsha which he inherited from his
father, Chief G.C Mokwe, has been demolished.”
She
further alleged that her husband was set up which led to invasion of his hotel
by the police upon a tip off and his subsequent arrest. She also accused the
government of threatening to demolish her husband plaza at Ose-Okwodu and other
property belonging to him and his family and confiscates all his assets.
On his part, Dr. M.N Umenweke, lawyer to accused, wondered why
government demolished the only evidence against Mokwe which is the hotel where the human heads were allegedly
found.
“These
were two old rusty human skulls planted in the hotel. The skulls could have
been obtained in any burial ground, laboratory or mortuary or even Teaching
hospitals where students use them for practical,” he maintained.

This is non sense for destroying eveidence you should let him go and prosecute those destroying evidence and
Compensating him quickly.

ReplyDeleteOla mao ask yourself this question what is human skulls doing in mrs lawyer's hotel?Fresh or old.human skull is human skull.most igbo rich men knows what skull are used for. Are you a stanger to that part of Nigeria?Did you hear of a man who used d mother for ritual since 2003? And was only expossed late june 2013 by his family in his shop.why can we speak the truth for once in this country? We have reached the level of proper investigation not victimisation.....they were elected to lead us forward not to victimize anyone who stands in a position of threath to their evil ordeal...(Mr. ROO)
ReplyDeleteOnitsha men can do anything to keep there business growing and Governor have said before now it that any house were arm robbers, kidnappers and human rituals is being carried out will be demolish and de properties of de peptrator sieze. This is nt the first and in order to discourage people from getting money through dubious way, I am in support of Peter Obi. Landlord and ladnlady should always know their tenents.

ReplyDeleteIt is actually hasty for the government to distroy the building, as investigation would have revealed so may things, such as the cameras, CCTV and other electronic gadgets in the premises. However, this is the law in place in Anambra that any building, that houses, criminal activities will be demonished immediately.

"EBURU OZU ONYE OZO O DI KA EBU NKWU NKU" feel the pains of those people whose loved ones goes out and never returned, no goodbyes to their families and no one knows their way about, till today they never returned. the woman should stop crying, she enjoyed the money, she should face it. Are they first to loose their property in this condition? her husband is just being arrested by SARS and she is say "DEHUMANISING" what about those people whose heads are found, is that place a burial Ground? are they not people's family members? if you have been in Onitsha and see people who are missing all these years and you have human feelings, you will know that anyone caught in this kind of act deserves to die.
