Policeman Dismissed For Extorting Bribe From Motorist In Lagos Used Fake Name For 20 Years

A Nigerian police officer who was dismissed yesterday from the police force after being in the force for 20 years over demanding a N25, 000 bribe caught on video is actually fake. The purported Sgt. Chris Omeleze No.192954 has actually been using the fake name since he joined the force without the knowledge of the police authorities which paraded him yesterday. This revelation was laid bare this morning on Channels Television programme Morning Rise, when those that knew him from his schools told Channels TV that the man’s real name is Osugwor Festus from Umuseti village in Ndokwa North LGA of Delta State.
They told Channels Television that the name Chris Omeleze is actually the name of one of their classmate which the policeman may have been using without their knowledge.
They alleged that they all were in the same class with the police fraudster.
We are yet to confirm how the police would react to this latest development.
