THE President, Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mr Femi Adesina, has said that no fewer than 300 editors would attend the 9th all Nigerian Guild of Editors conference billed for Asaba, Delta.
Adesina disclosed this on Wednesday in Asaba when he led the executive members of the body on a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Information in Delta, Mr Chike Ogeah.
He thanked the state government for the support and logistics it gave the association to make the conference a success.
He said that the conference, which commenced on Wednesday, would end on Saturday.
The President said that the conference, with the theme “Nigerian Beyond Oil” would x-ray issues how Nigeria could survive without depending on revenue from the export of crude oil.
Responding, Ogeah thanked members of the Guild for selecting the state as the venue of their conference and assured them of adequate security and logistics support throughout their stay in the state.
He said that the government had already keyed into theme of the conference, adding that the “Delta Beyond Oil” agenda of the government was already yielding results.
Ogeah said that the implementation of the agenda was already impacting positively onInternally Generated Revenue (IGR) and some sectors of the economy.
